A fisherman reported spotting a gray whale in San Diego Bay Monday, a U.S. Coast Guard spokesman said.
The angler said he caught sight of the cetacean as it tooled the waters off Shelter Island about 7:30 a.m., according to USCG Petty Officer Henry Dunphy.
