major convention center expansion

San Diego is moving forward with a $750 million expansion of its convention center aimed at keeping Comic-Con and other major events in the city.

Officials with the Port of San Diego and the convention center have agreed to work on the expansion after negotiating a deal with a group that controls the 7-acre bayfront plot in downtown. Port commissioners are expected to approve the measure Tuesday.
