The San Diego Sports Arena will be the site of the November 6-7 event, marking the first time the final has been played in the United States since 2000.
Italy, who defeated the United States 4-0 in last year’s final, is expected to be led by French Open champion Francesca Schiavone. The Italians are in the final for the fourth time in five years.
The United States leads all nations with 17 Fed Cup titles, the last coming in 2000 when the Americans defeated Spain 5-0.
