Auction.com launches home-buying test in San Diego

REDC, the 20-year-old company that popularized real estate auctions in hotel ballrooms, will launch an online version in San Diego Saturday that charges sellers $25 to list their properties and a 1 percent commission if they find a buyer.

Now called Auction.com, the company says it offers 24-hour access to real estate agents who can walk sellers through the process, and more services for an extra 1 percent.
