San Diego can reduce health costs by $1B

A study says San Diego could cut $1 billion from the $1.36 billion it potentially owes in health care costs for retirees.

The report, which will be presented to the City Council on Tuesday, says the obligation could be reduced if the retiree benefit were eliminated for existing city employees.
