Alleged ‘bomb factory’ found in San Diego

A San Diego County man pleaded not guilty to 28 explosives charges after prosecutors say police found “the largest quantity” in one place in U.S. history.

George Djura Jakubec was ordered held on $5 million bail Monday after authorities allegedly found a “bomb factory” composed of homemade explosives and dangerous and volatile chemicals, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

When police entered Jakubec’s Escondido rental home, they allegedly found “the largest quantity of this type of homemade explosives found in one location in the history of the United States,” Deputy District Attorney Terri Perez said.
