Phony US marshal pleads guilty in San Diego

A man who posed as a U.S. marshal and convinced a relative’s pregnant wife that she was being deported has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Gregory Denny of Hemet and his wife, Karen, pleaded guilty Tuesday in San Diego to impersonation to make an arrest and aiding and abetting. He faces up to three years in prison.
