San diego : City council may oppose brown

At a meeting Monday night, the San Diego City Council will consider formal opposition to Gov. Jerry Brown’s budget-balancing proposal to eliminate redevelopment agencies statewide.

If approved, a written resolution would be sent to Brown’s office to register the council’s discontent.

The resolution, brought by Councilman Kevin Faulconer, calls Brown’s effort misguided and says its effect on San Diego would be devastating.
