A San Diego police officer was suspended and ordered to surrender his gun and badge after a woman accused him last week of sexually assaulting her, authorities said Monday.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was placed on unpaid administrative leave Friday, said San Diego police Detective Gary Hassen.
The woman was at a hospital late Wednesday night when she claimed that she had been raped at an El Cajon home by the officer and a woman, El Cajon police Lt. Mark Coit said. Hospital officials notified police, Coit said.
